Cancellation of Your Booking
We want booking your holiday with us to feel safe and flexible.
That is why we offer different types of cancellation protection, so you can choose the solution that best suits your needs and travel plans.
Whether you want maximum flexibility with our “No Questions Asked” protection or extra peace of mind in case of illness, we do our best to give you complete reassurance.
Please note: If you are travelling with deals, our DEALS cancellation terms apply:
Bookings made with DEALS can be changed up to 14 days before arrival for a fee of DKK 250. Otherwise, the deal will be lost. If you are unable to use the deal yourself, you may transfer it to another person for the same change fee.
Please note that it is NOT possible to extend the validity of a deal under any circumstances.
Before Your Arrival
You may purchase either Cancellation Protection – Illness or Cancellation Protection – No Questions Asked together with your booking.
Please note that the choice must be made at the time of booking. It is not possible to add cancellation protection later.
A confirmed booking cannot be cancelled and/or changed by the guest. However, the guest may cancel the booking subject to payment of a fee as follows. Please note that the insurance premium is non-refundable:
- If cancellation is made more than 60 days before arrival, the amount paid will be refunded minus a fee of DKK 350. Payments below DKK 400 are non-refundable.
- If you cancel less than 60 days before arrival, you will lose the full amount paid unless you have purchased cancellation protection.
- If you have purchased Cancellation Protection – Illness, the full amount paid will be refunded minus the insurance fee and any credit card fees, provided the conditions under Cancellation Protection – Illness below are met.
- If you have purchased Cancellation Protection – No Questions Asked, the full amount paid will be refunded minus the insurance fee and any credit card fees, provided the conditions under Cancellation Protection – No Questions Asked below are met.
Changes or rebookings include cancellation of the stay, change of accommodation type, or changes to the dates. It is always possible to add extra services to your stay.
Cancellation Protection – No Questions Asked
This is our best cancellation protection, allowing you to rebook or cancel without questions up until 12:00 noon the day before your planned arrival and still receive a full refund of your stay. You will receive the full amount paid minus the protection fee (within 5 working days).

Cancellation Protection – Illness
This cancellation protection covers cases of medically documented acute illness or death among one of the travel participants. The full amount paid, minus the protection fee, will be refunded, but only in cases of documented acute illness.

The following conditions apply to Cancellation Protection – Illness:
- The insurance covers the part of the rental amount excluding insurance premiums which Horsens City Camping does not refund in the event of cancellation, where the insured’s stay becomes impossible or significantly hindered:
- due to death, acute illness or serious injury requiring hospitalisation, prescribed bed rest or equivalent affecting the insured or the insured’s spouse, partner, children, parents, parents-in-law, children-in-law, grandchildren, siblings, grandparents, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law or travelling companions.
Acute illness:
Acute covered illness means a newly occurring illness or a justified suspicion of a newly occurring serious illness. - because significant damage has occurred immediately before the holiday stay due to fire or burglary in the insured’s private home, or fire, burglary or unlawful labour dispute in the insured’s own business.
- due to death, acute illness or serious injury requiring hospitalisation, prescribed bed rest or equivalent affecting the insured or the insured’s spouse, partner, children, parents, parents-in-law, children-in-law, grandchildren, siblings, grandparents, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law or travelling companions.
- Special conditions:
It is a condition for insurance coverage that Horsens City Camping receives proof of the insured event, such as a medical certificate, death certificate or police report.
In the case of coronavirus/COVID-19, a new, valid and positive COVID-19 test is required for reimbursement. - Insurance period:
The insurance applies from the date of purchase until 12:00 noon the day before agreed arrival at Horsens City Camping.
The cost of obtaining a medical certificate must be paid by the guest.
In the event of injury, confirmation from the hospital or attending doctor is required. In case of death, a copy of the front page of the death certificate must be submitted. In case of burglary or fire, a copy of the police report must be submitted. Additional documentation may be required.

During Your Stay
Please note that our cancellation options for changes do not apply during your stay. In the event of acute illness, accident or death in your immediate family or among your party, we recommend ensuring that you are covered by your private travel insurance.
Right of Withdrawal and Refunds
Please note that bookings for stays at campsites are not covered by the Danish Consumer Contracts Act rules regarding the 14-day right of withdrawal, as rental of temporary accommodation for holiday purposes is exempt pursuant to Section 18(2)(12) of the Danish Consumer Contracts Act. Therefore, we recommend purchasing cancellation protection.
